Prayers for Our Brothers and Sisters

Everyone has heard of or has viewed scenes of the chaos in Egypt. The latest scenes pictures a Coptic Christian church which  has had to cancel mass for the first time in 1600 years.

Can you imagine?

Nuns are being paraded through the streets while Christian schools are being desecrated, looted and then burnt to the ground.

It is important to understand the significance of all of this. Egypt is considered the most, or one of the most, western thinking of countries in the Middle East. The groups acting against the minority Christians have a philosophy that it closely associated with communism.

Christianity and communism are like oil and water. They do not mix. They are polar opposites. This, I imagine, is why the Christians are being terrorized so.

Is this the beginning of the great chastisement so many Christians grew up hearing about? Based on current media headlines, it would appear so. As Catholics, we must help others understand what is at play. This is a fight between good and evil. I invite you to listen below by clicking on the radio icon.

I ask you today to pray along with me to Our Lady of Fatima.

Pray the  Rosary daily.
                     Offer Sacrifices.*
                                 Attend First Saturday mass
                                                                   Go to Confession.

*(Examples of possible sacrifices: Be patient with someone when you feel otherwise, skip dessert, give alms, etc.)

Peace,

Peter's Bride
